Drum magnetic separator SBM
The SBM type drum magnetic separator is designed for automatic separation of ferrous metals from medium- and fine-grained bulk materials in gravity chutes. The drum separator protects process machines against damage caused by metal contamination, prevents production downtime and ensures product quality. The SBM separator is also used to recover valuable ferrous scrap in waste recycling processes.
The SBM drum separator is reliable, very robust and designed for continuous operation. The separator is characterized by high metal separation efficiency. The ferrite or neodymium permanent magnets used in the magnetic drum have high coercivity, which makes them difficult to demagnetize. Therefore, the drum separator has a long service life.

Working principle of the drum magnetic separator
The material to be separated is directed through the separator hopper to the magnetic part of the drum. Ferrous metals are captured by the magnetic field generated by strong permanent magnets placed under the drum shell. During the rotation of the drum, the cleats placed on the shell carry the captured iron parts in the magnetic field until it disappears, where they fall off automatically into the chute and further into the scrap container. However, the magnetically neutral material flows freely through the drum and leaves the separator.

Drum separator price and delivery date
Based on the working conditions specified by the Customer, the appropriate type of separator is selected and its price is determined, which depends primarily on the magnetic material used. A more expensive option is a device equipped with neodymium magnets due to the constantly rising prices of rare earth metals. As standard, separators are supplied with NORD drives. The use of SEW drives requires a small additional fee.
The delivery date of the device on order is usually 6 - 8 weeks. We also fulfil orders with an accelerated deadline. Magnetix also has a large warehouse of separators available immediately.
Magnetix also carries out comprehensive deliveries of magnetic separators including the design of the installation, steel structures, control systems and mechanical and electrical assembly. The price of a comprehensive separator delivery with assembly is calculated individually and depends on the complexity of the installation and the scope of work.
