Non-ferrous metal separators from Magnetix

Eddy current separators from Magnetix recover valuable non-ferrous metals with high efficiency during the sorting of municipal waste, valorization of slags from waste incineration plants, disposal of cars and household appliances, or recycling of electronic waste. Non-ferrous metal separators clean secondary raw materials such as plastics and glass. They are also used to separate non-ferrous metals from RDF alternative fuels. Metal separators from Magnetix are characterized by a high level of recovery with relatively low energy consumption.

Depending on the number of poles in the magnetic rotor and the rotational speed of the rotor, non-ferrous metal separators are divided into:

  • SWP-12B series separators (12 poles 2000 rpm)
  • SWP-18B series separators (18 poles 3000 rpm)
  • SWP-26B series separators (26 poles 4000 rpm)
  • SWP-36B series separators (36 poles 4000 rpm)

How do non-ferrous metal separators work?

The operation of the non-ferrous metal separator is based on the principle of magnetic induction. A polar wheel rotating at high speed creates a high frequency alternating magnetic field that induces strong eddy currents in metals. Due to the flow of current in non-ferrous metals, a secondary magnetic field is created that opposes the magnetic field of the rotor. The interaction of these fields leads to the creation of the Lorentz repulsive force, which counteracts the force of gravity. The resultant force pushes the metal out of the stream of transported material. In this way, aluminium, copper, magnesium, zinc, silver and other valuable non-ferrous metals are separated.

Why is it worth investing in a metal separator?

With the increasing awareness of designers, technology suppliers and plant managers, it has become obvious to install a non-ferrous metal separator in modern waste processing plants. The rapid increase in the value of raw materials in recent years has meant that the investment outlays related to the purchase of a non-ferrous metal separator pay off after a few months of operation. However, there is still much to do. From the point of view of recovery of valuable metals, the most valuable ones seem to be mining and processing heaps. A lot of valuable metals are also lost as a result of improperly conducted recycling processes. Energy-consuming and environmentally harmful technologies are also used - wet separation. These challenges are met by Magnetix non-ferrous metal separators, which are characterized by very high efficiency and low energy consumption.

Specialist advice on non-ferrous metal separators

The non-ferrous metal separators we offer are always selected to suit your needs and requirements by a team of experienced engineers. We advise on the selection of the appropriate separation system for a specific purpose. We review the parameters of the technological process such as throughput, material granulation, size of metal impurities or metals that we want to recover. On this basis, we select the optimal number of magnetic poles in the rotor and the rotor's rotational speed. We analyze the location of the separator indicated by the customer and select the optimal method of feeding material to the separator.

We also advise on the proper operation of the non-ferrous metal separator and train the operating staff. We provide the necessary information on the impact of electromagnetic fields and help determine safe zones. We do not forget about the most important thing, i.e. the effectiveness of separation. We advise how to best set up the non-ferrous metal separator to achieve the maximum level of raw material purity and a high degree of recovery of valuable metals.
