Tunnel metal detector DMD

The DMD type tunnel metal detector is designed to detect ferrous and non-ferrous metals in piece goods or bulk materials transported on belt conveyors. The DMD detector protects process machines against damage caused by metal contamination, prevents production downtime, and ensures product quality. The metal detector is also used as an additional level of protection after the magnetic separator.

The DMD splitable metal detector is reliable, easy to use and designed for continuous operation. The metal detector is characterized by high scanning sensitivity across the entire width of the conveyor belt. The split design of the DMD detector allows for simple integration into an existing production line and belt conveyor system - there is no need to disconnect the belt and rebuild the conveyor.

Working principle of the splitable metal detector

The tested product transported on a belt conveyor moves through the metal detector tunnel. The detector creates a high-frequency electromagnetic field that covers the entire width of the conveyor belt. The electromagnetic field generated by the transmitting coil induces a certain signal in the receiving coil. The metal contained in the product deforms the electromagnetic field lines generated by the transmitting coil, thereby changing the amplitude and phase of the signal induced in the receiving coil. The received signal is analyzed by the detector's electronic system and converted into a metal detection signal. The metal detector detects iron and its alloys, including stainless steel and acid-resistant steel, and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper, brass, zinc, lead, silver, etc. The scanning sensitivity is adjusted using a digital control unit.

Why choose our splitable metal detectors?

The DMD tunnel metal detectors we offer can meet the expectations of every customer. A wide range of possible sizes of detector tunnels allows for simple and quick installation on existing transport systems. The split detector design and short metal-free zone further save time and cost of reinstalling the installation. It is possible to use 3 different control units to obtain optimal detection sensitivity and achieve the highest product purity. The stainless steel detector ensures IP65 protection and enables failure-free operation in high-humidity areas. Our DMD tunnel detectors can be equipped with interfaces enabling communication in technological networks. This allows you to save time by communicating with an individual device and monitoring work in real time. Factory certificates and approvals, which the customer receives upon request, are solid arguments during internal and external audits.
