Overband magnet PMT

The PMT type overband magnet is intended for removal of tramp iron from bulk materials transported on belt conveyors or vibrating feeders. The magnetic block protects mills, crushers and other process machines against damage caused by iron parts such as screws, pipe pieces, bearings or crusher teeth. The PMT magnet requires manual cleaning of captured metals.

The PMT suspended magnet is reliable and very robust. The magnet is characterized by high metal separation efficiency. The ferrite or neodymium permanent magnets have high coercivity, which makes them difficult to demagnetize. Therefore, the ovedrband magnet has a long service life.

Working principle of the overband magnet

The magnet is usually suspended on a special support structure above the conveyor belt transporting the material. There are two ways to suspend the magnet - transversely to the direction of the transported material or longitudinally above the conveyor drive drum. The magnet attracts ferrous metals contained in the transported material, which stick to the rubber apron. Cleaning the magnet involves removing the apron from the magnet. Optionally, the magnet can be equipped with a metal scraper that facilitates cleaning.
